The city of Kirkland, Washington is a vibrant waterfront community featuring restaurants, art galleries, a performing arts center, beachfront public parks, and more. The area is home to a number of seasonal and annual events, from farmer’s markets and art walks to holiday celebrations and parades. Located within the award-winning Lake Washington School District, Kirkland provides an excellent recreation program and neighbors two wonderful State Parks: Saint Edward and Bridle Trails.
Named for Peter Kirk, a steel tycoon who came to the area in the late 1800s, Kirkland was primarily a milling and ship building town in its early years. It the former home of the Seattle Seahawks headquarters and training facility, and is also the namesake of the “Kirkland Signature” Costco brand name as it was previously headquartered in the area.
